Forecast models from agencies including the China Meteorological Administration and international sources converge on a high of 25–26°C for Chengdu on September 18 under predominantly cloudy skies with light northeast winds and humidity near 80%. This setup limits surface heating compared with clearer September days, keeping daytime maxima close to the long-term average of 25°C while suppressing stronger warming that would favor 27°C or higher. Minor model differences in cloud timing and any brief showers create the tight spread between 25°C and 26°C implied by current trader positioning, with resolution hinging on the exact peak observed by official stations before evening cooling sets in. Updated guidance expected overnight could refine the final range.
