Recent polling for New Zealand's November 2026 general election under the MMP system shows National and Labour running neck-and-neck, with party support fluctuating within a few points across surveys from Roy Morgan, Taxpayers' Union-Curia, and others through early August. This keeps the contest for second place highly competitive, as small swings in primary vote or minor-party performance can determine which major party trails. Government announcements on EV infrastructure and business funding, alongside Labour's policy releases and candidate list, have provided limited separation so far. Upcoming events such as further debates, economic data releases, and final enrolment trends through October could shift voter intentions and widen the gap reflected in trader pricing.
