Andrea Pellegrino enters as the higher-ranked player at No. 134 against Lorenzo Giustino (No. 209) in the BMW Open Munich qualifying first round on clay, where the younger Italian (29) recently reached the Santiago quarterfinals—his first main-draw ATP win of 2026—before a Monte Carlo qualifying loss on April 4. Giustino, 34 and a former No. 127, holds a 3-1 head-to-head edge, including a 2022 Vicenza clay victory, but has posted early Challenger exits in March, such as defeats to Forejtek and Jubb. No injury reports surface; both clay baselines favor endurance in this all-Italian matchup, with the winner facing the Shevchenko-Dedura victor for main-draw entry. Trader consensus reflects Pellegrino's momentum versus Giustino's experience.
