This aligns with pre-event forecast model consensus from the UK Met Office, projecting highs near 24°C amid a high-pressure ridge and southerly airflow, warmer than the typical May average of 16–18°C but within climatological norms. Scenarios that could challenge resolution include rare post-finalization data revisions for sensor anomalies or a overlooked higher reading from a qualifying station, though quality-controlled observations reduce this risk as data stabilizes within 24–48 hours.
