Houston Astros lead the series 2-0 over the Colorado Rockies entering Thursday's finale at Daikin Park, snapping an eight-game skid with tight wins including Wednesday's 3-1 victory behind strong pitching and timely hitting from Yordan Alvarez. The Rockies, slumping with a 6-12 record and sub-.300 win percentage amid a five-game losing streak, turn to probable starter Juan Mejia (5.40 ERA) while missing Kris Bryant (back, 60-day IL) and dealing with Kyle Freeland's shoulder issue. Astros (8-11), fortified by a 6-2 home mark despite placing Cody Bolton (back) and Hunter Brown (shoulder) on the injured list, rely on Ryan Weiss in a matchup favoring their bullpen rest advantage and recent momentum.
