Detroit Tigers hold the edge in trader consensus for the series finale at Comerica Park, buoyed by a four-game win streak including 2-0 advantage over the Royals this week, with late rallies securing narrow victories like Tuesday's 2-1 decision. Both AL Central squads sit below .500 at 8-9 and 7-10 amid disappointing starts despite preseason projections as division contenders, hampered by subpar offenses and bullpen inconsistencies. Tigers OF Parker Meadows landed on the 10-day IL yesterday with a fractured left radius and concussion from a collision, thinning their outfield depth, while Royals OF Isaac Collins exited Tuesday day-to-day with a right knee issue. Probable starters and home-field rest advantage could sway this rubber match, with clear weather expected.
