The Detroit Tigers hold a slim edge in trader consensus for their home series finale against the Kansas City Royals at Comerica Park, buoyed by a 2-1 victory in Wednesday's opener—Wenceel Pérez's eighth-inning homer snapping a scoreless tie for their fifth straight win following a sweep of Miami. Royals starter Kris Bubic (2-1, 2.50 ERA) faces Tigers' Keider Montero (1-1, 1.74 ERA) in a low-ERA pitching duel, but Kansas City seeks to halt a three-game road skid amid a 7-10 record, trailing Detroit's 8-9 in the AL Central. Key absences include Royals' relievers Bailey Falter (elbow) and Carlos Estévez (foot), plus Tigers' Beau Brieske (groin) and Justin Verlander (hip), with both bullpens tested late. Home-field advantage and recent momentum favor Detroit in this tight divisional clash.
