Tigers hold a 2-0 series lead over the Royals after two tight 2-1 wins at Comerica Park, fueled by superior pitching in low-scoring duels that underscore early-season bullpen reliability. Thursday's rubber match pits Kansas City lefty Kris Bubic (2-1, 2.50 ERA), riding a career-high 11 strikeouts over seven scoreless innings last outing, against Detroit righty Keider Montero (1-1, 1.74 ERA), who has limited foes to a .245 average at home. Royals' bats have sputtered (3-7 last 10 games, .192 average), worsened by outfielder Isaac Collins' day-to-day right knee contusion forcing him from the lineup. Tigers leverage home-field edge amid AL Central grind, with mild 69°F weather unlikely to disrupt play.
