The Minnesota Twins and Pittsburgh Pirates open their three-game interleague series with both clubs hovering near .500, the Twins at 27-30 in the AL Central and the Pirates at 29-28 in the NL Central. Pittsburgh claimed the opener 6-5 on Bryan Reynolds’ two-run ninth-inning homer after Oneil Cruz’s early blast, overcoming a Twins rally at PNC Park. Probable starters Bailey Ober and Mitch Keller bring strong recent form, though both rosters carry notable injuries, including Pirates first baseman Ryan O’Hearn and catcher Joey Bart on the IL alongside Twins pitching depth concerns. Home-field advantage, bullpen reliability, and the middle-infield production of each side figure to shape the next two outcomes in a matchup where recent momentum and health updates remain fluid.
