The New York Mets and San Diego Padres open a three-game series at Petco Park in early June, with both clubs navigating roster adjustments and injury recoveries that shape pitching matchups and lineup depth. The Mets have integrated infield additions Bo Bichette and Marcus Semien while tracking progress from Francisco Lindor’s calf strain and Francisco Alvarez’s knee surgery, alongside other absences such as Jorge Polanco. San Diego contends with its own starting pitching limitations, including Nick Pivetta and Joe Musgrove. Home-field factors at the Padres’ park, combined with recent form and bullpen reliability, represent the primary variables traders weigh in assessing game and series outcomes.
