Pittsburgh Pirates (11-8) welcome the Washington Nationals (9-10) to PNC Park for the series opener on Jackie Robinson Day, with trader consensus shaped by yesterday's narrow 5-4 Nationals victory fueled by CJ Abrams' three-hit game and home run. Today's pivotal matchup features shaky starters Jake Irvin (1-1, 7.07 ERA) for Washington against Mason Montgomery (1-0, 6.14 ERA) for Pittsburgh, both vulnerable amid early-season bullpen strains from the opener. James Wood stays blistering hot post-NL Player of the Week nod for the Nats, while Pirates leverage a robust 6-4 home record and recent 2-0 shutout of the Cubs. Pitcher injuries linger on both rosters, but healthy lineups and hitter-friendly conditions point to run potential in this NL East-Central clash.
