Yesterday's group stage results amplified this edge, with Qatar suffering a 0-3 shutout shutout to Serbia—exposing vulnerabilities in their lineup—while Luxembourg secured one singles victory in a competitive 1-3 loss to powerhouse Croatia. In this best-of-five singles format, Luxembourg's higher ITTF rankings across multiple players position them dominantly in Group 8. Realistic shifts could stem from Mladenovic injury withdrawal, Qatar stylistic upsets mirroring occasional table tennis volatility, or fatigue from back-to-back scheduling, though barriers remain high for the underdog.
