Safe Superintelligence Inc. (SSI), the alignment-focused lab founded by Ilya Sutskever in 2024, has maintained strict stealth with zero public models, papers, or demos released in its first 25 months. The primary near-term driver of trader sentiment is investor Gavin Baker’s early-August 2026 podcast claim that the company plans an initial model release this month, amplified by SSI’s July 27 NVIDIA partnership that dramatically scales compute on the Vera Rubin platform after Sutskever stated its research was “worthy of scaling.” This stands in contrast to SSI’s stated “straight-shot” mandate of building only safe superintelligence without interim products. Any August announcement would represent a sharp departure from its prior silence and could resolve markets quickly, while continued quiet would reinforce expectations of a longer timeline before a public large language model or aligned system appears.

A qualifying model must be an AI model released by SSI or associated with SSI and confirmed as such by SSI or by a consensus of credible reporting.
For this market to resolve to "Yes," a qualifying model must be launched and publicly accessible, including via open beta or open rolling waitlist signups. A closed beta or any form of private access will not suffice.
The release must be either clearly defined and publicly announced by SSI as being accessible to the general public or otherwise made publicly accessible and explicitly labeled within the company’s official website. Labeling errors, placeholder text, or version names displayed on the website that do not correspond to a model that is actually accessible to the general public will not qualify.
The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from SSI; however, a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.
