The 2026 Surrey, BC mayoral election is currently scheduled to be held on October 17, 2026. This market will resolve according to the candidate who becomes the next mayor of Surrey as a result of this election. Temporary, interim, or placeholder mayors appointed before the election will not be considered. If the result of this election isn't known by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other". The primary resolution source for this market will be a consensus of credible reporting; however, if there is any ambiguity in the results, this market will resolve according to official information from Surrey. The crowded 2026 Surrey mayoral field features incumbent Brenda Locke of Surrey Connect facing rematch bids from former mayor Doug McCallum of the Safe Surrey Coalition, former MLA Mike Starchuk of Imagine Surrey, councillor Linda Annis of Surrey First, Honveer Singh Randhawa of the Conservative Party of Surrey, and Troy Van Vliet. A March poll showed Locke and Randhawa tied near 30 percent amid fragmented support across parties and new entrants. Recent July campaign events with McCallum's pledges on forensic audits, property-tax freezes, and expedited permits have kept frontrunner probabilities clustered, reflecting trader assessments of vote-splitting risks in the October 17 municipal contest. The September nomination deadline and candidate forums could further test coalition strength and shift implied probabilities before advance voting begins.
