The 2026 Toronto mayoral election is currently scheduled to be held on October 26, 2026. This market will resolve according to the candidate who becomes the next mayor of Toronto as a result of this election. Temporary, interim, or placeholder mayors appointed before the election will not be considered. If the result of this election isn't known by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other". The primary resolution source for this market will be a consensus of credible reporting; however, if there is any ambiguity in the results, this market will resolve according to official information from Toronto.Incumbent Olivia Chow maintains a strong lead in the Toronto mayoral race ahead of the October 26, 2026, vote, bolstered by her established profile after winning the 2023 by-election and early polling advantages that have narrowed but persist around 47-50% support versus Brad Bradford’s 38-40%. Bradford, the Beaches-East York councillor, has gained ground through sustained campaigning on public safety, traffic, affordability, and business competitiveness, including proposals for more police hires and addiction treatment policies, amid voter dissatisfaction with city services and a sense the city is on the wrong track. Other registered candidates, including former federal minister Chris Alexander, remain marginal due to limited visibility and organization. Upcoming September debates and ongoing economic pressures from trade issues could influence late shifts, though Chow’s incumbency and coalition-building efforts continue to anchor trader consensus on her frontrunner status.
