Persistent marine layer and strong onshore flow from the Pacific are suppressing maximum temperatures in San Francisco, keeping early September readings 10–15°F below seasonal norms amid a deep, stable inversion. Official forecasts from sources like the National Weather Service and models show Wednesday highs likely reaching the upper 60s to low 70s under partly cloudy skies with light southwesterly winds, aligning with historical September 2 averages near 70°F. Trader consensus clusters tightly on 70–73°F because small variations in marine layer depth, timing of any afternoon clearing, or localized warming east of Twin Peaks could shift the daily peak by a degree or two, while recent cool, drizzly conditions limit upside potential.
