Recent National Weather Service and model consensus forecasts for Austin on September 3 point to a high in the mid-to-upper 90s, with partly cloudy skies and a 40-50% chance of afternoon showers or thunderstorms that could limit peak heating through cloud cover and evaporative cooling. This aligns with late-summer climatology, where average highs reach 93.9°F amid typical southerly flow and high humidity, though recent days have seen readings near 98°F under clearer conditions. Ensemble guidance shows limited spread around 95-98°F, supporting trader emphasis on the 94-99°F bins while acknowledging uncertainty from convective timing and any late model shifts ahead of resolution.
