Giuseppe Tortora enters the June 7-8 runoff for Pompei mayor with overwhelming trader support after securing a narrow first-round plurality of 44.79% to Salvatore Alfano’s 43.67%, backed by a center-right coalition of seven lists. The third-place finisher’s roughly 12% share and subsequent neutrality have facilitated vote consolidation favoring Tortora in the head-to-head contest to succeed the late incumbent. High turnout in the second round and the absence of major late-breaking developments have reinforced this positioning in the prediction market, where the current pricing reflects skin-in-the-game consensus on the outcome. A decisive shift in participation patterns or unforeseen campaign developments could still alter the result before final certification by Italian electoral authorities.
