Recent National Weather Service guidance and local forecasts highlight southerly to southwesterly winds advecting warmer air into the Chicago region, combined with mostly sunny skies that support strong daytime heating. These conditions have driven official projections for a high in the mid to upper 80s, well above the late-summer climatological average near 77–78°F, positioning the 84–85°F and 86–87°F bins as dominant market outcomes. Model consensus shows limited cloud cover or frontal passage today, though minor timing shifts in peak insolation or brief showers could nudge readings toward the lower or upper end of that range. Real-time observations through midday already confirm temperatures climbing steadily into the low 80s.
