Recent National Weather Service and commercial model guidance points to a Monday high in the mid-70s for New York City after Sunday’s heavy rain clears, with northwesterly flow and partial clearing supporting the market’s strong tilt toward 76-77°F. Ensemble forecasts converge on daytime maxima near 74-76°F under breezy conditions that limit afternoon heating, consistent with early-September climatology when urban heat island effects typically add 1-3°F to regional readings. Central Park observations, which resolve the market, will capture any localized deviations from these model runs, while updated short-range guidance expected over the next 48 hours could refine the exact peak if cloud cover or wind shifts evolve.
