Recent National Weather Service and private model guidance indicates a warm southerly flow regime for New York City on September 9, with south-southwest winds promoting warm-air advection and highs most likely in the 83–86°F range. This positions 84–85°F as the leading bin at 36% implied probability, narrowly ahead of 82–83°F and 86–87°F. Key differentiators include the precise timing and strength of the low-level jet, extent of afternoon cloud cover that could cap insolation, and local sea-breeze or urban-heat-island effects measurable at Central Park versus coastal sites. Ensemble spreads remain modest but introduce enough uncertainty to keep the top three bins within roughly 25 percentage points, with fresh model runs and NWS updates expected to refine the maximum-temperature outcome before resolution.
