SpaceX’s recent V3 Starship test flights, including the July 24 Flight 13 success with Starlink V3 deployment and controlled reentries, show steady gains in heatshield performance and engine relights, yet full reusability—tower catches of both booster and ship plus rapid turnaround—remains unproven as of August 2026. Upcoming Flight 14 catch attempts and Musk’s comments targeting a ship catch soon followed by reflight at year-end or early 2027 highlight the tight window, but past timeline slips, regulatory hurdles, and the need for multiple successful reuses before year-end sustain trader caution. Market-implied odds reflect this balance of incremental technical progress against the compressed schedule required for verified full reusability by December 31.
