Recent hawkish signals from Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh and other officials, emphasizing vigilance on inflation, have lifted the probability of a September rate hike and supported the DXY near 99.7 as of August 28. Traders are monitoring upcoming labor market data, including JOLTS job openings, ADP employment, ISM manufacturing and services reports, and especially the August nonfarm payrolls release, for clues on wage pressures and hiring momentum. These figures will influence market-implied odds for the Fed funds rate path versus the current 3.50–3.75% target range and Treasury yield differentials. Softer-than-expected results could ease tightening expectations and weigh on the index, while resilience would reinforce the recent rebound from sub-99 lows.
