Tibo Colson and Miguel Tobon, both qualifiers into the Mexico City Challenger main draw on clay, meet in the first round with no prior head-to-head, pitting the 25-year-old Belgian (ATP No. 500) against the rising 19-year-old Colombian (No. 469). Colson's recent qualifying run—edging Alan Rubio Fierros in Q2 and dominating Alafia Ayeni 7-6(0), 6-3 in the final—provides superior match fitness after three straight wins. Tobon advanced through qualies with efficient victories, including over Rafael De Alba, leveraging youth and clay affinity at high-altitude Mexico City. Traders price a tight contest, emphasizing endurance, surface history, and potential late scratches, as thin air tests stamina in extended rallies.
