**James Talarico holds a strong position in Fort Bend County for the November 2026 U.S. Senate general election due to the county’s suburban demographics and recent voting trends.** Fort Bend, part of the Houston metro area, features a diverse electorate with growing support for Democratic candidates in recent cycles, including local offices and presidential voting patterns that have shifted leftward compared to more rural Texas counties. Talarico secured the Democratic nomination after defeating Rep. Jasmine Crockett in the March 2026 primary, positioning him to consolidate support among independents and Hispanic voters who have shown responsiveness to his campaign style in suburban settings. Ken Paxton, the Republican nominee after defeating incumbent Sen. John Cornyn in the May 2026 primary runoff, draws stronger backing in more conservative parts of the state but faces headwinds in Fort Bend, where his primary performance reflected intra-party dynamics rather than general-election appeal. Statewide polling has shown the race as competitive or tied in some surveys, with Talarico demonstrating fundraising strength and crossover potential that traders interpret as particularly advantageous in this county. Minor candidates and “other” options remain available on the ballot but show limited viability in current positioning. Upcoming debates, further polling releases, and campaign events through early November represent the main variables that could influence final county-level margins.

The candidates will be primarily ranked by the number of valid votes received in the specified election. If two or more candidates are tied on valid votes, ties will be broken by alphabetical order of the candidate last names. This market will resolve to the candidate that occupies the highest finishing position after applying this ranking.
The nominees of the Democratic and Republican parties are named in the contract for the convenience of traders. In the event that any named candidate is replaced as the nominee of their respective party prior to election day, the name in the contract will be updated and the market will resolve based on the replacement nominee of the party.
If the results of the election in the specified county are not definitively known by March 31, 2027, this market will resolve to "Other."
This market will resolve based on a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the government of Texas, including the Office of the Secretary of State and the government of Fort Bend County.
