Official forecasts from the Met Office and BBC Weather establish a consensus minimum temperature of 17°C for London on August 16, driven by high-pressure dominance and light northerly winds that limit overnight radiative cooling under clear to partly cloudy skies. This aligns with the market's leading 41.5% implied probability for 17°C, followed closely by 18°C and 16°C outcomes reflecting minor model spread in boundary-layer conditions. Recent long-range outlooks noting above-normal temperatures for mid-August have reinforced trader positioning around these values, while historical August climatology (typical lows near 13–14°C) highlights the current mild anomaly. The Met Office's next 5-day update and final overnight station readings will provide the last inputs before resolution.
