This market will resolve based on the highest temperature recorded in the 'Daily Observations' table on Weather Underground, not the figure displayed in the 'Day High & Low' summary section; in the event of any discrepancy between the two, the Daily Observations table shall be the primary resolution source not the Day High & Low section. This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded at the Tokyo Haneda Airport Station in degrees Celsius on 15 Aug '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from Wunderground, specifically the highest temperature recorded for all times on this day for the Tokyo Haneda Airport Station, available here: https://www.wunderground.com/history/daily/jp/tokyo/RJTT. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the gear icon next to the search bar and switch the Temperature setting between °F and °C. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.**Trader sentiment for Tokyo's August 15 maximum temperature centers on short-range forecast consensus from the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) and global models, with 29°C and 30°C leading at 26% and 22% implied probability.** These closely matched odds reflect genuine uncertainty in the final 48-hour window before the event, typical for narrow temperature bins where small shifts in cloud cover, timing of precipitation, or boundary-layer mixing can swing the daily peak by 1–2°C. Persistent seasonal forcing from a strong Pacific High has kept Japan above normal since early summer, with Tokyo experiencing frequent 30–35°C days amid high humidity that enhances urban heat retention. However, guidance for the 15th specifically indicates possible scattered showers or increased cloudiness, which would cap insolation and limit afternoon heating compared with clearer recent days. Model spreads arise mainly from subtle differences in low-level moisture advection and sea-breeze timing along the Kanto Plain, where the urban heat island can add 1–2°C locally but is modulated by any onshore flow or rainfall. Resolution hinges on the official JMA observation at the Tokyo station; traders weigh the latest ensemble runs showing a most-likely peak near 29–30°C against the risk of slightly cooler conditions if showers arrive earlier or stronger than expected. This produces the tight clustering around the two leading outcomes while keeping higher tails (31°C+) at low single-digit probabilities.
