Kris Mayes holds the strongest position in the 2026 Arizona Attorney General race as the Democratic incumbent seeking a second term, with recent polling averages showing her ahead of Republican nominee Warren Petersen by margins of roughly 6 to 8 points amid elevated undecided shares. Petersen secured the GOP nomination in the July 21 primary by defeating Rodney Glassman with about 56 percent of the vote, consolidating Republican support after a competitive and costly contest. Mayes ran unopposed in her primary and has maintained visibility through official actions on healthcare enforcement, consumer issues, and legal defenses. The race remains within the range of historical swing-state volatility for down-ballot contests, with trader pricing reflecting Mayes’s incumbency edge and current survey trends while leaving room for late shifts from turnout or campaign developments before November 3.
