Recent preliminary analyses from Copernicus and Berkeley Earth place July 2026 global surface air temperatures near 1.2°C above the 1850–1900 baseline, aligning with the market's dominant 1.20–1.24°C outcome. Strengthening El Niño conditions in the tropical Pacific, with Niño 3.4 anomalies exceeding +2°C in mid-July and forecasts for a very strong event through late 2026, provide the main short-term warming boost amid elevated baseline greenhouse forcing. This follows cooler 2025 readings around 1.19°C and occurs as ocean heat content remains high after prior years. Traders weigh upcoming final July datasets and August ENSO updates, noting that model spread and any rapid shifts in atmospheric coupling could still nudge the anomaly within the narrow leading bin.

An anomaly within a named bracket for July 2026 is necessary and sufficient to resolve this market immediately once the data becomes available, regardless of whether the figure for July 2026 is later revised.
The primary resolution source for this market will be the figure found in the table titled "GLOBAL Land-Ocean Temperature Index in 0.01 degrees Celsius" under the column "Jul" in the row "2026" (https://data.giss.nasa.gov/gistemp/tabledata_v4/GLB.Ts+dSST.txt).
If NASA’s “Global Temperature Index” is rendered permanently unavailable, other information from NASA may be used.
If no information for July 2026 is provided by NASA by September 1, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to the lowest range bracket.
