The 2026 Toronto mayoral election is currently scheduled to be held on October 26, 2026. This market will resolve according to the candidate who becomes the next mayor of Toronto as a result of this election. Temporary, interim, or placeholder mayors appointed before the election will not be considered. If the result of this election isn't known by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other". The primary resolution source for this market will be a consensus of credible reporting; however, if there is any ambiguity in the results, this market will resolve according to official information from Toronto.Incumbent Olivia Chow declared her candidacy for re-election in late May 2026, positioning her as the clear frontrunner in the October 26 municipal contest. Recent polling from Liaison Strategies and Forum Research shows her holding leads of 9–15 points over city councillor Brad Bradford, her primary challenger, with support in the mid-to-high 40s amid a tightening but still comfortable margin. Bradford has gained ground since spring but faces name-recognition hurdles and limited momentum. Other registered or potential contenders, including Chris Alexander and several lower-profile names, register minimal support. With the nomination period closing August 21 and no major late surges or scandals emerging, trader consensus reflects Chow’s incumbency advantages, established voter base, and the structural barriers to overtaking an incumbent in Toronto’s municipal system.
