Republican incumbent John Carter secured his party's nomination in the March 2026 primary with 60 percent of the vote, backed by an endorsement from President Trump, in Texas's 31st congressional district. The seat's partisan voting index favors Republicans by double digits, reflecting consistent strong performance in presidential and Senate contests within its mix of suburban Williamson County areas, rural counties, and military communities near Fort Hood. Democratic nominee Justin Early and Green Party candidate Greg Stoker face structural headwinds typical of a solid Republican district, with limited polling or fundraising signals indicating a close contest. Traders assign the Republican nominee an 89.5 percent implied probability, consistent with historical reelection rates for entrenched incumbents in similarly rated seats ahead of the November general election.

A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
