General elections to elect the 93 members of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia are scheduled to take place on October 24, 2026. This market will resolve according to the political party that wins the greatest number of seats in the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia as a result of this election. If the results of the specified election are not definitively known by March 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". Parties will be primarily ranked by the number of seats won in the specified election. If two or more parties are tied on seats, ties will be broken by the total number of valid votes received, with higher vote totals ranking higher. If parties remain tied, ties will be broken by alphabetical order of the listed party names. This market will resolve to the party that occupies the highest finishing position after applying this ranking. This market's resolution will be based solely on the number of seats won by the named party. A candidate will be considered a member of the party they contest the election under. This market will resolve based on the results of the elections, as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. In the case of ambiguity, this market will resolve solely based on the results as reported by Elections BC (https://elections.bc.ca/).The snap election called by NDP Premier David Eby for October 24, 2026, has positioned the party as the clear frontrunner in trader assessments, supported by recent polls showing it ahead of the BC Conservatives by several points among decided voters. Eby cited an “existential moment” tied to U.S. tariffs and economic pressures as justification for advancing the vote two years early, while making targeted policy announcements on health care, ferries, and taxes. Opposition dynamics have featured rapid leadership turnover, with Kerry-Lynne Findlay’s resignation followed by Lorne Doerkson’s interim role and efforts to reunite defectors from CentreBC, alongside smaller parties such as the Greens, OneBC, and CentreBC polling in single digits. These factors, alongside regional divides and mixed provincial sentiment, underpin the current market pricing.
