Incumbent Republican Greg Steube faces Democrat Matthew Montavon and independent Michael Quirk in the November 3 general election for Florida's 17th congressional district. The seat carries an R+10 Partisan Voter Index and delivered 62-63% support for Republican presidential and Senate candidates in 2024, aligning with consistent ratings of Solid or Safe Republican from Cook Political Report, Decision Desk HQ, Inside Elections, and Sabato's Crystal Ball. Steube's unopposed primary path and established fundraising advantage have reinforced trader consensus around a wide margin, while Montavon's recent narrow Democratic primary win has not shifted the underlying electoral baseline. A major scandal, health event, or unexpected national Democratic surge could narrow the gap, though structural factors limit realistic upset potential.
