Incumbent Democrat Frank Mrvan, first elected in 2020, seeks a fourth term in Indiana’s 1st congressional district, a northwest Indiana seat with a narrow Democratic partisan voting index. Multiple nonpartisan forecasters rate the contest Likely Democratic, citing Mrvan’s 2024 reelection margin and the district’s consistent support for Democratic House candidates. The national environment, including a generic ballot advantage for Democrats and the typical midterm penalty for the president’s party, further supports the positioning. Republican nominee Barb Regnitz faces structural challenges in a race where Democratic fundraising and incumbency advantages have held steady through the May primaries. Trader consensus on Polymarket reflects these district-level fundamentals and broader electoral patterns, with limited recent developments altering the outlook ahead of the November 3 general election.
