This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by NOAA at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport Station in degrees Celsius on 23 Sep '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=zspd If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source. In the event that there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to Metric Units" button until the relevant table displays °C. This market will resolve once the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source, or by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, whichever comes first. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.**Recent forecasts from multiple meteorological sources position 28–29°C as the most likely range for Shanghai’s highest temperature on September 23, 2026.** Official and model guidance, including Chinese meteorological services and international providers like WeatherBug and ECMWF-influenced outputs, consistently project daytime highs of 28–29°C (roughly 82–85°F) under mostly cloudy to overcast skies with light easterly winds. These conditions limit surface heating compared to clearer periods, aligning with late-September climatology for the region where average highs hover near 28–30°C. Current observations on September 21 show highs around 29°C with stable pressure and no incoming weather systems expected to drive significant warming or cooling by mid-week. Model consensus shows low spread, supporting the tight market clustering around 28°C (49.5% implied probability) and 29°C (39.5%). Minor variations in cloud cover or wind could nudge the exact maximum by 1°C, which is why lower-probability outcomes like 27°C or 30°C retain small shares. Updated short-range model runs and official briefings on September 22 will provide the final data points before resolution.
