Recent National Weather Service and model guidance for Houston on September 3 point to daytime highs in the upper 80s to low 90s under humid conditions with southerly flow drawing Gulf moisture. Afternoon instability from surface heating is expected to trigger scattered showers and thunderstorms, which could limit peak temperatures through cloud cover and evaporative cooling. Historical early-September averages near 91°F provide context, yet the current pattern of elevated dew points and 60% rain chances favors the market's leading 88-89°F bin. Differences among closely matched outcomes hinge on the precise timing and coverage of convection, with stronger or earlier storms favoring the lower bins and clearer periods allowing brief pushes into the low 90s. Updated model runs and NWS briefings over the next 48 hours will refine these thresholds.
