Current forecasts from the National Weather Service and major models indicate Chicago's minimum temperature on September 3 will likely fall in the mid-70s°F, driven by a warm, humid southwest flow ahead of any potential boundary. This setup favors overnight lows near 74–78°F amid partly cloudy skies and scattered storm chances that limit radiational cooling, well above the 1991–2020 average of 63°F. Trader sentiment remains split between the 86°F+ and 67°F-or-below bins because model runs show modest uncertainty in exact boundary timing and lake-breeze effects, while narrower ranges around 74–79°F trade lower amid that spread. Updated NWS guidance and evening model cycles will provide the next key data points before resolution.
