Recent National Weather Service guidance and ensemble models indicate a highest temperature near 68°F for San Francisco on September 6, driven by persistent onshore westerlies and a moderate marine layer that limits afternoon warming despite seasonal solar input. Trader consensus splits narrowly between the 68-69°F and 70-71°F bins because small variations in boundary-layer mixing, wind gust strength around 20 mph, or coastal fog clearance timing could shift the peak by 1–2°F. Historical September averages near 70°F provide context, yet current below-normal coastal sea-surface temperatures reinforce the cooler bias seen in recent days. Updated short-range forecasts and afternoon observations tomorrow will likely resolve the close market-implied odds.
