This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the lowest temperature recorded by NOAA at the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport Station in degrees Celsius on 26 Sep '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the lowest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=zggg If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source. In the event that there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to Metric Units" button until the relevant table displays °C. This market will resolve once the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source, or by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, whichever comes first. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.**Current numerical weather prediction models from sources like ECMWF and regional forecasts converge on a minimum temperature of 25–27°C for Guangzhou on September 26, 2026, under partly cloudy to mostly clear skies with light winds and moderate humidity around 50–60%.** This places the expected overnight low firmly in the mid-20s range, above the long-term September average minimum of ~23°C but well short of extremes. The near-even split between the 20°C-or-below (50%) and 30°C-or-higher (49%) outcomes reflects trader focus on the tails of forecast uncertainty: subtle differences in nocturnal cloud cover, radiative cooling rates under high humidity typical of the South China Sea monsoon transition, and urban heat-island effects in Guangzhou can shift the exact minimum by a couple of degrees. A stronger high-pressure ridge or clearer skies could allow slightly more cooling toward the lower 20s, while any increase in low-level moisture or light showers would suppress the drop and keep readings closer to 27–28°C. With resolution imminent, updates from official monitoring and short-range model runs over the next 48 hours will determine whether the minimum edges into one outcome or the other.
