Recent forecasts from multiple models indicate a cool, rainy day in Cape Town on September 16 driven by a strengthening high-pressure system and southerly flow that advects cooler maritime air, suppressing maximum temperatures. Consensus highs cluster near 15–17°C amid persistent cloud cover and showers, aligning with the market’s emphasis on 17–18°C outcomes while assigning low probability to warmer thresholds. Spring climatology in the region shows typical maxima around 18–19°C, but the current synoptic pattern—marked by a passing cold front and elevated pressure—favors the lower end. Model runs will be updated frequently over the next 48 hours, with any shifts in wind direction or timing of clearing skies able to alter the daily peak by 1–2°C.
