Current forecasts from multiple models indicate a maximum of 16°C in Wellington on September 14 under partly cloudy skies with light northerly winds and minimal precipitation risk, aligning with the market's strong 67% implied probability for that outcome. This reflects typical early-spring conditions in the region, where daily highs average near 14–15°C, and recent model consensus shows limited variability or intensification from high-pressure influences. Traders appear to weigh the narrow historical range—rarely exceeding 17°C or falling below 13°C on this date—against the low likelihood of forecast shifts before resolution, though updated runs from agencies like MetService could introduce minor adjustments if wind patterns or cloud cover evolve overnight.
