This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the lowest temperature recorded by NOAA at the Chicago O'Hare Intl Airport Station in degrees Fahrenheit on 16 Sep '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the lowest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=kord This market will resolve off of the Hourly Data provided using the "Show Hourly Data" button. If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source. In the event that there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to US Units w/ kts" button until the relevant table displays °F. This market will resolve once the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source, or by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, whichever comes first. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Fahrenheit (eg, 21°F). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.**Trader sentiment for Chicago’s lowest temperature on September 16 centers on a mid-60s outcome, with the 66-67°F bin holding the highest implied probability at 34.5%.** This distribution reflects broad agreement among short-range forecast guidance that the daily minimum will occur overnight under mostly cloudy skies and northeast winds. Current National Weather Service and ensemble model runs project an overnight low near 64–67°F, driven by persistent cloud cover that limits radiational cooling, moderate northeast flow off Lake Michigan, and scattered showers that maintain higher dew points. These conditions contrast with clearer, calmer nights that would allow temperatures to drop into the upper 50s. Recent days have featured a cooling trend after mid-September warmth, but the pattern has stabilized around seasonal normals rather than producing sharp drops. Key variables that could shift the outcome include any unexpected clearing after midnight (favoring the 62–65°F range) or stronger onshore flow and additional rainfall (pushing the minimum toward 68–69°F). With resolution less than 24 hours away and limited model spread, traders have concentrated probability in the narrow 64–69°F window while assigning low odds to extremes below 60°F or above 72°F. Updated NWS forecast discussions and hourly observations overnight will provide the final inputs before the market settles.
