Recent cold-air intrusion and heavy rainfall across the Sichuan Basin have sharply lowered temperatures, with Chengdu highs falling from the mid-30s°C earlier in the week to around 20–23°C on September 10. Official forecasts for September 11 show recovery under mostly cloudy to overcast skies with scattered showers possible, producing projected maxima of 21–25°C depending on model runs and the degree of afternoon clearing. Higher outcomes near 26°C would require stronger insolation and lighter winds than currently indicated by consensus guidance, while lower readings hinge on persistent cloud cover or additional precipitation suppressing daytime heating. Market-implied odds centered on 24–25°C reflect this narrow range of uncertainty in boundary-layer conditions and short-term model spread ahead of final observational data.
