Recent forecasts from agencies including the China Meteorological Administration and global models indicate a high likelihood of persistent rain and overcast skies in Chongqing on September 21, suppressing daytime heating and supporting market-implied odds clustered around 23–25 °C. Current conditions show a frontal system bringing widespread precipitation and elevated humidity, which historically caps maximum temperatures several degrees below the September climatological average of 27 °C. Model consensus points to a peak near 24–26 °C depending on the timing and intensity of showers, with lighter rain allowing brief warmer spells and heavier activity keeping readings closer to 23 °C. The tight spread in trader probabilities reflects uncertainty in the final 48-hour forecast updates from numerical weather prediction runs, where small shifts in cloud cover or rainfall timing could easily move the daily maximum by 1–2 °C.
