This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by the Hong Kong Observatory in degrees Celsius on 10 Aug '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from the Hong Kong Observatory, specifically the "Absolute Daily Max (deg. C)" the specified date once information is finalized in the relevant "Daily Extract", available here: https://www.weather.gov.hk/en/cis/climat.htm This market can not resolve until data for this date has been published. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures in Celsius to one decimal place (eg, 9.1°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Any revisions to temperatures recorded after data is initially published for this market's timeframe will not be considered for this market's resolution.Hong Kong’s August 10 maximum is expected to hinge on the balance between strong solar heating under subtropical high pressure and moderating effects from increasing cloud cover and showers. Official Hong Kong Observatory guidance points to a daily range near 29–35 °C with moderate rain probability, consistent with the market’s tight clustering around 34 °C and 35 °C. Weak west-to-southwesterly flow, elevated boundary-layer humidity, and the urban heat-island effect favor readings at or above the long-term early-August average, while any organized convection or thicker cloud decks could suppress the peak by 1–2 °C. Seasonal outlooks already flag normal-to-above-normal temperatures through October, and recent observations of 34 °C highs reinforce trader focus on the narrow window separating the two leading outcomes. Updated model runs and the next HKO briefing will be the key near-term catalysts.
