This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by the Hong Kong Observatory in degrees Celsius on 12 Aug '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from the Hong Kong Observatory, specifically the "Absolute Daily Max (deg. C)" the specified date once information is finalized in the relevant "Daily Extract", available here: https://www.weather.gov.hk/en/cis/climat.htm This market can not resolve until data for this date has been published. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures in Celsius to one decimal place (eg, 9.1°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Any revisions to temperatures recorded after data is initially published for this market's timeframe will not be considered for this market's resolution.Recent record heat in Hong Kong, driven by a persistent subtropical high and residual effects from Typhoon Dolphin, has established a warm baseline with observed maxima near 36–37°C in early August. Official Hong Kong Observatory forecasts for August 12 project daytime highs of 32–35°C under partly cloudy to thundery conditions, where model consensus on shower timing and intensity creates the tight clustering around 33–35°C outcomes. Higher humidity and potential convective cooling favor the 33–34°C range by limiting peak solar heating, while any delay in precipitation or stronger subsidence could allow brief spikes toward 35°C. Seasonal outlooks indicate normal-to-above-normal warmth consistent with long-term trends, with traders weighting near-term model runs and historical August variability at the Observatory station.
