Incumbent KMT mayor Hsieh Kuo-liang holds a commanding position in the November 2026 Keelung mayoral race, reflected in trader pricing that treats him as the clear frontrunner. His survival of the October 2024 recall election with majority support across all districts demonstrated resilience amid opposition efforts, reinforcing incumbency advantages in a traditionally pan-blue city. Recent polling, including a Mirror Media survey showing a narrow lead over DPP challenger Tung Tzu-wei amid high undecided voters, has not shifted the broader consensus, as KMT structural strengths and limited viable opposition keep alternative outcomes at low implied probabilities. Scheduled local elections on November 28, 2026, will determine the winner under standard Taiwanese voting rules.
