Persistent high pressure and light southeast winds across North Texas are sustaining elevated overnight lows near 78–80 °F for August 29, according to National Weather Service guidance, with mostly clear skies permitting limited radiational cooling offset by high dew points near 70 °F. These conditions differentiate the tightly clustered mid-range outcomes (78–83 °F) from the leading 71 °F-or-below tranche, which would require an unforecasted cold front or stronger northerly flow to enhance cooling. Model consensus shows minimal day-to-day variability this close to the event, though small shifts in boundary-layer moisture or wind speed could still nudge the minimum across the 76–80 °F threshold. Traders appear to weigh historical late-August variability against the current stable pattern.
