Mercedes' superior 2026 car has propelled teammates George Russell and rookie Kimi Antonelli to the top of the Drivers' Championship standings after four Grands Prix, with Antonelli leading on 72 points following back-to-back wins in China and Japan—claiming consecutive poles over Russell in Suzuka via superior qualifying sectors—while Russell sits second on 63 after victory in Australia. Trader consensus implies a 43.5% probability for Russell clinching the title, edging Antonelli's 30.4% due to the Briton's experience in high-pressure intra-team battles, as highlighted by paddock voices like Martin Brundle urging a "peak Hamilton" aggression. Ferrari's Charles Leclerc trails third at 49 points (6.6% implied), reflecting Mercedes' race pace dominance and others' struggles in qualifying and podium fights.
