Roberto Carballes Baena enters the Cattolica Challenger semifinal as the clear favorite against Italian qualifier Francesco Forti, with his higher ranking (191 vs. 396) and greater clay-court experience serving as primary drivers of market positioning. The 33-year-old Spaniard has advanced steadily through the draw, posting straight-set wins over Max Hans Rehberg and Gianmarco Ferrari before a three-set victory against Raul Brancaccio, showcasing consistent baseline play suited to the surface. Forti, a 26-year-old local, has benefited from home support and recent momentum, reaching the semifinals with wins over Franco Agamenone and Andrea Guerrieri after strong ITF-level results on clay earlier in 2026. No prior head-to-head exists, but Carballes Baena’s proven ATP-level results and two career titles on the surface contrast with Forti’s limited experience at this level. The outdoor clay conditions and potential fatigue from the week’s schedule remain key variables heading into the match.
